What’s the difference between Ultherapy Glow and traditional Ultherapy treatments?

Ultherapy Glow delivers precise, focused ultrasound energy at a depth of 1.5mm below the surface of the skin, whereas traditional Ultherapy treatments deliver energy at deeper levels. By treating at a more superficial depth, Ultherapy Glow helps produce collagen within the skin itself, promoting a healthy glow and reducing the appearance of surface concerns such as lines and wrinkles. Traditional Ultherapy treatments focus on lifting and tightening the skin to simulate a mild facelift.

How do I know if Ultherapy Glow is right for me?

At NJ Health Hub, we customize our Ultherapy treatments for each patient based on the anatomy of their skin, connective tissue and musculature by using Ultherapy’s ultrasound visualization technology. For some patients, our Ultra Corrective protocol may include Ultherapy Glow as part of the treatment if our analysis determines that it would provide the best result.

What areas can be treated with Ultherapy Glow?

Any areas that can be treated with Ultherapy traditionally can also be treated with Ultherapy Glow. This includes the brow, crow’s feet, under-eye area, lower face, around the mouth (perioral), under chin (submental), neck and décolletage. It is common for Ultherapy Glow treatments to include all areas of the face and/or neck in the same treatment.

What are the results like and how long do they last?

Ultherapy Glow results in a reduction of lines, wrinkles and crepiness, as well as an overall appearance of glowing, healthy skin due to the significant boost in collagen production. Many patients experience an initial effect from the treatment that lasts for several weeks, but the real results become noticeable within 3-4 months following the treatment. The effects typically last for approximately 1 year.

How often can I do Ultherapy Glow?

Because Ultherapy Glow treats at a more superficial level, Ultherapy Glow can be performed more frequently than traditional Ultherapy treatments. While it is not uncommon to repeat Ultherapy Glow every 6 months, the treatment can be performed as often as once per month, up to 3 months in a row.

Does Ultherapy Glow hurt?

While many patients choose to undergo treatment without any pain medication, Ultherapy Glow can be performed with the use of a topical medication such as lidocaine. Topical anesthetics are effective for Glow treatments because Glow focuses the energy at a superficial depth.

Is there downtime or side effects from Ultherapy Glow?

As with traditional Ultherapy treatments, there is no real downtime, as the surface of the skin is not harmed. Side effects from Ultherapy Glow may include redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated areas. Most side effects resolve naturally within a day or two.

Is the treatment FDA cleared?

Ultherapy is FDA cleared to lift and tighten skin on the face and neck, as well as improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the decolletage.
